Nintendo Wii Fit May Help Reduce Hypertension in Families

The Nintendo Wii Fit. Have any of us considered promoting it for a home fitness program for high blood pressure sufferers? The game is a hit and it`s already sold out in retailers all over the country, proving that people enjoy this type of interactive fun with family or friends despite the critics negative reviews.

I can`t understand their harsh criticism? Are we not taking this all to serious when all it really is, is a bit of fun and games but with the added incentive to get a bit more active. In our world of violence, sex and hatred, a tame game like the Nintendo Wii Fit is a welcome video game that brings a bit of cyber fresh air. Save the biting criticism for the violent and demonic video games.

Games like the Wii Fit encourages time together with the family which is healthier than no time at all, and may even kick start a closer relationship, fuelling the flames of desire to engage in other outdoor family
recreation.

Young persons are joining the ranks of the hypertensive. For instance a study conducted with US teens with an average age of 13.5 years, revealed that after the first screening 19% had high blood pressure. But the figures are similar across the board. I am talking about children ranging from infancy to their teens.

As we live in this video era, games like this may prove to be one of the most effective avenues to help train them back to physical fitness in recreation.

A great number of the adult population as well, are in some way cut off and isolated at home from the outside world. The lack of physical exercise as a result of this mundane lifestyle, tends to be a number one cause of health problems such as high blood pressure and heart disease. Nintendo Wii Fit can play it`s part in helping some, if not all to break free from the sedentary lifestyle, as it`s suited to all age groups, and great things often start off small, do they not?

Top fitness trainers have been trying it out and sporting a light hearted view of the game, even recommending it as a very good personal trainer. It has very useful features like checking your Body Mass Index, measuring body fat based on your height and weight, and your fit age too, all based on the standards used by the World Health Organization and National Institute of Health. This is all very useful stuff if you want to help reduce high blood pressure using resistance and aerobic exercises.

True, not all the exercises are going to burn the calories or do much toning, but remember, it has to be fun to encourage stick-ability. So all in all its another thumbs up, and also legs up from me as I search for new ways to keep people interested in staying fit to help lower high blood pressure.
